The National Stadium

Translation Note: The Angielski version of this content is being displayed because it has not been translated to Polski.

The National Stadium is going to be built on the site of the existing Stadion Dziesięciolecia. It is, by all means, the largest Polish construction for Euro 2012. The National Stadium is expected to hold the opening match of the Championships, one of the quarter-finals and a semi-final. The stadium was designed by JSK Architekci sp. z o.o., GMP International GmbH and SBP GMBH (Schlaich Bergermann Und Partner). JSK Architekci has a lot of accomplishments abroad  - in Düsseldorf and Berlin in Germany, as well as in China and South African Republic. The company is also well - known in Poland – they designed the Legia stadium in Warsaw and won the contest for the Euro 2012 stadium in Wrocław.

The National Stadium’s front elevation is going to resemble the red-and-white Polish flag waving. In the stands 860 seats are reserved for the journalists and further two thousand “premium” seats are booked for the special guests. There are also some seats prepared for the disabled people. What’s more the grandstand will have a VIP gallery with 900 seats.

The Stadium is supposed to become a part of the National Sport Centre, where  the Polish soccer team plans to play their most important matches.

Expected opening time: 2011

The number of spectators: 55 000
